Philipp Krause specializes in public finance and public administration. He is a convener of the Global Public Finance Lab.

He has held management positions at CABRI (Africa’s network of senior budget officials), the Gates Foundation, and the Overseas Development Institute. He’s also worked for the German and Mexican governments, and the World Bank. He is a visiting fellow and lecturer in German politics and government at the University of Potsdam, and recently was a visiting professor and research fellow at the University of the Witwatersrand. He is currently board secretary of the AERC (African Economic Research Consortium).

Philipp had a chance to work on everything from macro-fiscal policy to procurement and performance budgeting but remains most interested in the role and structure of ministries of finance.
