Edward Hedger specialises in public finance, multilateral governance, international cooperation policy and financing, and public sector reform. He is a convener of the Global Public Finance Lab.

He was formerly Managing Director and Executive Director at ODI Global, Non-Resident Fellow at the Center for Global Development, Senior Adviser with the Wagner School of Public Service at New York University, and senior adviser to the High-Level Steering Committee for Global Education.

He serves as International Delegate on the Somalia Financial Governance Committee, a high-level government advisory body on fiscal and financial sector issues. He has written and advised extensively on public finance, especially in lower income countries and fragile states. His advisory portfolio includes Board-level strategy and governance reviews for multilateral organisations.
